This disclaimer governs your use of the Therapy24 website at therapy24.co.za, operated by Rotshidzwa Liphadzi, a Registered Counsellor with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). By accessing this website, reading our articles, or engaging with any content published here, you agree to the terms set out in this disclaimer.

We are committed to transparency. This page exists to help you understand exactly what Therapy24 is, what it is not, and how to use our services and content safely and responsibly.

01

Not a substitute for professional help

The content on this website — including all articles, self-help techniques, blog posts, and general information — is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It is not intended to replace, substitute, or supplement professional psychological assessment, diagnosis, or treatment.

“Reading an article about anxiety is not the same as receiving therapy. If you are struggling, please reach out to a qualified mental health professional.”

If you are experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition, emotional distress, or any psychological difficulty, we strongly encourage you to seek the guidance of a licensed or registered health professional. Therapy24’s published content is a starting point — not an endpoint — for your wellbeing journey.

02

No emergency services

Therapy24 is not an emergency service. We are not equipped to respond to crises in real time. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, experiencing suicidal thoughts, or facing a psychiatric emergency, please contact one of the following:

Articles & self-help content

Therapy24 publishes free mental health articles and self-help resources with the aim of making psychological knowledge accessible to everyone. We work hard to ensure this content is evidence-based, clearly written, and responsible.

📚
What our articles are
General educational content, plain-language explanations of psychological concepts, and practical self-help strategies for everyday wellbeing.
🚫
What our articles are not
Clinical advice, diagnoses, treatment plans, or a replacement for professional counselling or psychiatric care tailored to your individual situation.
How to use them
As a supplement to professional support, a starting point for self-awareness, or a resource to share with loved ones — never as a sole source of mental health guidance.
⚠️
Important caution
Self-help techniques may not be appropriate for everyone. If any content causes distress or feels unsafe to apply, please stop and speak with a professional.

Therapy24 accepts no liability for any action taken, or not taken, based solely on the content of our articles or self-help resources.

04

Professional scope of practice

Rotshidzwa Liphadzi is a Registered Counsellor with the HPCSA, holding a BPsych degree in Psychology. It is important that you understand the scope of practice of a registered counsellor in South Africa:

  • Registered counsellors provide supportive counselling, psychoeducation, and evidence-based self-help interventions.
  • Registered counsellors do not diagnose mental health conditions. Diagnosis is within the scope of clinical psychologists and psychiatrists.
  • Registered counsellors do not prescribe medication. Medication queries should be directed to a medical doctor or psychiatrist.
  • Complex or severe mental health conditions may require referral to a clinical psychologist, psychiatrist, or other specialist.
ℹ️
If during the course of our work together it becomes clear that your needs fall outside my scope of practice, I will always discuss this with you openly and assist with an appropriate referral. Your wellbeing is always the priority.
05

No therapeutic relationship via website

Visiting this website, reading our articles, submitting an enquiry form, or exchanging preliminary messages with Therapy24 does not constitute the formation of a therapeutic or professional relationship.

A formal counselling relationship is established only once both parties have agreed to work together, a consent form has been completed, and a session has been scheduled and conducted. Until that point, any communication is informational only and does not create any duty of care.

🔒
Confidentiality applies within formal sessions only. General website enquiries or messages sent before a therapeutic relationship is established are handled professionally but do not carry the same confidentiality protections as session content.
06

Accuracy of information

We make every reasonable effort to ensure that the information published on this website is accurate, up to date, and evidence-based at the time of publication. However, the field of psychology and mental health is continuously evolving, and new research may affect the relevance or accuracy of older content.

Therapy24 makes no warranties or representations — express or implied — about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or suitability of any information on this website for any particular purpose. You rely on such information entirely at your own risk.

If you notice any content that appears inaccurate or outdated, we welcome your feedback at info@therapy24.co.za.

Testimonials & outcomes

Any testimonials, success stories, or outcomes referenced on this website represent individual experiences and are not a guarantee of results. Therapeutic outcomes vary significantly from person to person depending on many factors, including the nature of the presenting concern, consistency of engagement, individual circumstances, and readiness for change.

Therapy24 does not promise or imply any specific outcome from counselling services or self-help resources. We commit to working with integrity and in your best interest — but we cannot guarantee results.
